Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC Rovshan Rustamov who is on a visit to Uzbekistan, held meetings both separately and in a trilateral format with the chairman of Uzbekistan Railways Zufar Narzullayev, and the Chairman of the Railways of Tajikistan, Komil Mirzoali, Azerbaijan Railways told APA-Economics.
During the meeting, they extensively discussed close cooperation in the railway sector, as well as the opportunities to increase freight traffic along the Central Asia – Europe – Central Asia and China – Europe – China routes and the importance of promoting these opportunities in the global market.
During the meeting, the heads of the railway institutions discussed the projects, which are currently being worked on, for the purpose of further increasing cargo transportation on the Middle Corridor and providing competitive and digital services to attract new cargo.
At the end of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding on the expansion of cooperation was signed between the parties.
Furthermore, the delegation of Azerbaijan Railways participated in the Round Table organized with local logistics companies as part of the working visit.
