Baku. Agshin Rafigoglu – APA-Economics. In January-June 2016, 23,884,000 tonnes of cargo were transported through Azerbaijan part of TARCECA. Cargo turnover made 4,592.0 million ton/km.
According to State Statistical Committee, 15,178,800 tonnes or 63.6% of cargos were transported by motor transports, 6,472,600 tonnes or 27.1% by railway transport and 2,232,600 tonnes or 9.3% by sea transport.
Compared to a year earlier, the cargos transported via the corridor fell 9.0%. This was caused by decline in cargo transportations via railway and sea transport (relevantly 19.6% and 34.8%). Freight via motor transport rose 2.7%.
14.9% or 3,567,600 tonnes of transported cargos made transit cargos.
In January-June 2016, 164.6 million passengers were transported through the corridor, up 2.2% compared to a year earlier. Passenger turnover made 3,313,300, up 1.2% in comparison with 2015.
