Baku. Turbet Baghirova – APA. The purpose of my visit to Azerbaijan is to conduct regular political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries. The last round of consultations was held in Delhi in 2013. Meanwhile, there was a certain interval and we have decided to fill this gap, said Indian Deputy Foreign Minister Sujata Mehta, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan.
She said they held fruitful discussions with Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov regarding bilateral relations. “We have considered a wide range of bilateral relations, focused on various opportunities that are inevitable for economic cooperation. We talked about important international transport corridor that is planned to be established. This project will bring benefits to the region. This corridor will pass through Azerbaijan and Iran, and will function as a transport corridor between Russia and India. We also held discussions on development of cooperation in the field of information technology, agriculture and others,” she added.
