Baku. Vusal Nabiyev – APA-Economics. In January-July 2016, 28,359,300 tonnes of cargo were transported through Azerbaijan part of TARCECA. Cargo turnover made 5,396.9 million ton/km.
According to State Statistical Committee, 18,223,500 tonnes or 64.3% of cargos were transported by motor transports, 7,576,100 tonnes or 26.7% by railway transport and 2,559,700 tonnes or 9% by sea transport.
Compared to a year earlier, the cargos transported via the corridor fell 8.2%. This was caused by decline in cargo transportations via railway and sea transport (relevantly 18.5% and 34%). Freight via motor transport rose 2.8%.
14.8% or 4,197,900 tonnes of transported cargos made transit cargos.
In January-July 2016, 196.7 million passengers were transported through the corridor, up 2.3% compared to a year earlier. Passenger turnover made 3,959,300, up 1.4% in comparison with 2015.
