The bridge is being repaired by Turkey’s Kolin Inshaat company.

The representatives of the company told APA’s Mil-Mughan bureau that the capital repair will last for 45 days. Though little time has been given for repair, the company intends to complete the work in time.

As the bridge is closed, remote alternative roads will be used from Sabirabad, Saatli and Imishli regions to the town of Shirvan. At the moment, only pedestrians can cross the bridge. Protective structures are installed for safe crossing of pedestrians.

In order to reach Sabirabad and Saatli regions, the drivers are using Baku-Gazakh highway and Salyan-Nokhudlu highway.

According to the Transport Ministry, because of cracks and holes, the bridge, which was built in 1962, was regularly closed for repair. It caused serious danger for drivers and passengers. Taking this into account, Transport Ministry passed a decision to close the bridge for capital repair.
