Azerbaijani President: Launching the â€œBaku White Cityâ€ project is an important event indicating the development of modern Azerbaijan

The head of State said that this is an important event for Baku and for the country. â€Creation of this city in Baku has a symbolic meaning. As in the "Black City" created "White City". Different people have used the rich oil fields of Baku, Azerbaijan. Improving their physical capabilities, they caused a great damage to ecological status of Baku. As a result of oil operations without compliance with environmental regulations is the place turned into a "Black City". So much effort is now attached to clean the area. From a depth of several meters have been siphoned oil waste, the environmental measures taken. In general, cleaning the area is an extremely important issue for the ecology of Baku. But the bookmarking in the area after cleaning of the new city is a major event, indicating the development of modern Azerbaijanâ€, - he said.

The President noted that in the "White City" will live tens of thousands of people. â€œIn this city will be built beautiful offices, residential buildings, public places, laid the new promenade. We have many plans. Today made a very large measure to Baku was even more beautiful. Baku Boulevard extended for several times. Currently, it is 4 kilometers. After a few months we will celebrate the opening of the new boulevard. A new boulevard with an area of the National Flag will cover more than 10-km distance. It creates new opportunities for residents to walk, to rest. However, we have improved and this part of town. It will lay down new avenues. Thus, along the coast, perhaps, there will be measured by tens of kilometers new public spacesâ€, - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said.
