Azerbaijanâ€™s Transport Minister: â€œThere is no problem in relation to construction of BTK railway lineâ€

Tbilisi. Nizami Mammadzadeh â€“ APA. Construction of railway line on Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project is carried out at a high level, said Azerbaijanâ€™s Minister of Transport Ziya Mammadov, APAâ€™s Georgian bureau reports.

â€œFrom viewpoint of finance there is no problem, the works are conducted on the plan. If weather conditions are favorable, we will continue construction works in winterâ€, said the minister.

To him, BTK railway line will be ready by the end of 2012 â€“ early in 2013: â€œThere is no problem with the Turkish side. There were issues related to relief of some places, but we have solved them tooâ€.

Besides, Azerbaijan allocated $575 mln with annual 5% interest, to Georgia for reconstruction and rehabilitation of existing 160 km-railway line in Marabda-Akhalkalaki area and changing of direction of tunnel to be constructed in the area from Akhalkalaki to the border with Turkey.
