Ekonomist magazine holds monitoring of Azerbaijan smart phone market - <font color=red>RESEARCH</font>

Azerfon operator has obtained the same license a year earlier. Both countries publicize the services to be rendered. Most happy people must be owners of iPhone and new generation phones or smart phones. Because of 3G technology will support to fully use the opportunities of these phones.

Mobile boom

During the 4 years later from the demonstration of first iPhone by Late Steve Jobs, real revolution was taken place in mobile phone market. New generation phones were entered into the traditional and clever smart phones market. Improvement of portative computers as a result of production of these phones, as well evaluation of notebook, netbook, tablet has eliminated the differ between mobile phones and computers.

New generation phones are based on new operation systems. At present, new generation smart phones were installed on the basis of several operation systems. iPhones, IOSs, Samsung, HTC, Sony-Ericsson phones operate on the basis of Android, Nokia â€“ on the basis of Symbian and Windows and Blackberry devices operate on te basis of Blackberry OS operation systems. These operations system makes the works possible in the smart phones. Thatâ€™s why. People prefer smart phones.

Mobile market

Production of new generation mobile phones and generally application of new technologies in this sphere caused serious changes in mobile market. Now, the mobile market is divided into two segments â€“ traditional phones and new generation smart phones.

According to Mobitel Companyâ€™s researches, traditional phones make 75% of market, smart phones â€“ 25%. Leader of market is Nokia model with 61%-share. Samsung ranks the 2nd with 20%. One of the advantages of Samsung is their DUOS model. Other part of phone market belongs to LG, Sony-Ericcson, Blackberry and China-produced false models. False phones make 10-15% market.

Smart phones are most quickly developing segment of phone market: sale rose 30% compared year earlier. Mobitel says 56% of smart phone is Nokia, 22% - Samsung, 20% - iPhone and Blackberry models.

According to researches of Apple Companyâ€™s representative in Azerbaijan Almastore, smart phone market in Azerbaijan makes 10% of total phone market in Azerbaijan. Most preferred model in this segment is Blackberry (35-40%). Share of Apple products is 30-35%, other is Samsung and etc.

70% of expensive smart phone owners are Azercell subscribers, 30% - Bakcell.

Most expensive toys

Sale of smart phones in Azerbaijan increases quickly, as over the world. Itâ€™s possible to purchase near 50 types of Nokia, iPhone, Samsung, HTC and other firms in the stores. The price range is between AZN 300-1,000+. High prices donâ€™t prevent to sale these models. However experts say that, low process will increase the sale. Prices of smart phones are lower than US and European countries. This was caused different schemes for their sale in foreign countries. But in Azerbaijan, they were not produced, yet. According to Almastore, less of contract with local operator prevents the sale of iPhone in Azerbaijan. It means that, these phones are sold with campaign in the circumstances of cooperation with mobile operators. Client pay $100-200 and purchase phone and pays approximately $60 per month during 1-2 years. This sum includes call cost and phone money. But in Azerbaijan our operators donâ€™t interest to sign such contracts. Because of they donâ€™t believe that, population will pay the sum.
