Azercell starts Carbon Calculator project
The project aims to strengthen the enlightening on the protection of environment, as well help to eliminate the climate changes in the earth. The participants of this project will be able to control their influence on environment and change it to positive.
The scientists proved that, one of the reasons of climate changes in the earth was related to emitting of carbon gas into atmosphere. So that, the temperature of planet increased by 1°C during past 10 years. If this continues, the temperature can increase by 11°C by the end of this century. And this can create sharp climate changes in the earth.
Azercell is the first company showing such initiative for prevention of global climate change. Thus, not only Azercell subscribers, as well as all Azerbaijani citizens will be able to calculate the amount of greenhouse gas emitted to atmosphere by using Carbon Calculator. And it will allow everyone to see and track clearly the impact you make on environment.
Furthermore, every subscriber will be able to reduce his/her footprint on global climate change and find various recommendations to behave in environmentally friendly manner. The Calculator also allows developing a personal carbon reduction plan for every user.
Protection of environment is always on the focus of attention of Azercell. The company is the fist mobile operator launching the first radio base station working with alternative energy sources. This station is located in Shahdag and operates with solar and wind power. Moreover, mobile communication services of the company helps interchange of transport and printing jobs, which cause the improvement of ecological situation in the country. From this viewpoint, Carbon Calculator project maybe assessed as an indicator of attention demonstrated by Azercell toward environment.
