Cargo and passenger transportations in Azerbaijan part of TRACECA increase by 6% and 8%

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. In January-August, 2011, 35.5 mln tons of cargo and 160.3 mln passengers were transported in Azerbaijanâ€™s area on TRACECA (Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia).

According to State Statistical Committee, cargo transportation rose 5.7%, passenger transportation increased by 7.8% compared to a year earlier: â€œ43.6% of cargos were transported by automobile, 36.8% - by railway, 19.6% - by sea transportâ€.

Note that, AZN 236.4 mln came from cargo transportation, AZN 50.2 mln from passenger transportation, up 13.1% and 23.2%.
