Azerbaijan and Korea sign grant agreement on Automation of Intellectual Property Management System

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev - APA-Economics. Today, Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents of the Republic of Azerbaijan have signed grant agreement on Automation of Intellectual Property Management System.

The document was signed by Chairman of State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents of Azerbaijan Ramiz Hasanov and Korean ambassador to Azerbaijan Lee Ji-Ha.

Hasanov said that according to this agreement, $4.2 mln grant funds would be allocated by some tranches within two years: â€œThis agreement purposes establishment of computerized system to automate the administrative work for the creation of intellectual property, the preparation of a national information database and the formation of the National Digital Library of Intellectual Property. For this purpose, Korean â€œKIPOnetâ€ system is considered to apply in Azerbaijanâ€.

To him, the main importance of grant agreement is to ensure the sustainability of the legal system of intellectual property, prepare specialists in this field, establishment of Training Center under the Committee in order to transfer of knowledge and skills, as well as necessary technologies to the interested sides.

Note that, within the framework of the project to last 2 years, at the expense of funds allocated by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), it is considered to provide patent system with the modern computer, server and other necessary technical equipment, as well as the provision of relevant programs, paper carriers in the format of e-infrastructure management system through the adaptation of modern technological requirements.
