Azerbaijan to start construction of Surface Satellite Control Center

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. The construction of the Surface Satellite Control Center to manage the first telecommunication satellite of Azerbaijan, will begin at the end of October.

Ministry of communications and information technologies told APA that currently, the works are underway in direction of preparation of the second telecommunication satellite: â€œMoreover, investigations are being conducted in relation to preparation of observation satellites. Installation of observation satellites will stimulate drawing of topographical map reflecting the real state of any area, constant control and ecological monitoring of environment, the development and control of flood forecasting, monitoring of oil flow and movement of oil spots, weather forecast and monitoring of hazardous natural phenomena, forecast of agricultural productivity, tracking of forest cut-down and determination of fires and operative management of a variety of emergency situations, control of borders and etc.â€.

Note that, the satellite is prepared by USâ€™ Orbital Sciences Corporation, carrier rocket is developed by French Arianespace company.
