Committee chairman: â€œFinish of delimitation means that Russia recognizes Azerbaijanâ€™s independence within the existing bordersâ€

To him, during the official visit of Russian president Dmity Medvedev to Azerbaijan, final documents were signed between the two countries on delimitation of borders: â€œAnd this means Russia recognizes the independence of Azerbaijan within the existing bordersâ€.

Committee chairman noted that at present time, the negotiations on delimitation of borders conducted between Georgia and Azerbaijan approach the end: â€œThe total length of the borders between the two countries is more than 480 km. Of these, more than 300 km have been agreedâ€.

According to his words, the committee drew maps within the framework of Baku-Tbilisi-Jeyhan, Baku-Supsa and Oguz-Gabala-Baku projects: â€œMoreover, we have prepared ordered maps in Baku within framework of â€œIntelligent traffic management systemâ€ project. On account of the grants received from Korea, Switzerland and Japan, we have realized several projects, as well as cadastre, cartography, topography and etc. We draw modern digital maps, which are more exact than the former onesâ€.
