”Azerbaijan has won 53 seats at an average price of the ICT services among the 152 countries around the world. The average price of ICT services in Azerbaijan amounted to 1.8% of GDP per capita. Price of ICT services in Azerbaijan in 2010, declined substantially compared with 2008, when it stood at 9.9% of GDP per capita. The prices included in the average cost of ICT services in the fixed telephony, mobile communications and broadband Internet access”, the report says.

According to the report, prices for ICT in 2010, in Azerbaijan for fixed telephone services per capita amounted to 0.6% of GDP (in 2008 this figure was 0.8%). Last year, the cost of fixed telephone services was 1.7% of GDP per capita, or 0.5% compared with 2008: “In 2010, the amount of broadband services in Azerbaijan amounted to 3, 1%, 23.6% less than in 2008. Over the past two years, Azerbaijan has made significant improvements on the IDI index, in both absolute and relative terms. The country’s growth rates were observed on both subindex and use from subindex that indicates the development of information society. At the same time, the sharpest decline in prices for ICT services was observed in Azerbaijan, in 2008-2010. Relative price level declined by more than 50%”.
