Azerbaijan takes parts in “Summer Davos” forum in China

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev - APA-Economics. The fifth annual meeting of the World Economic Forum, “Summer Davos” has been held in Dalian (China)

Azerbaijan was represented at the event by the delegation led by Communications and Information Technology Minister Ali Abbasov.

Under the theme Mastering Quality Growth, more than 1,700 delegates, including World Economic Forum President Schwab, Benin President Yayi, Guinea’s President Conde, Kyrgyz Prime Minister Atambayev, Norwegian Crown Prince Haakon, Deputy Prime Minister of Zimbabwe Mutambara and representatives of the political, business, academic and media communities of 90 countries and regions in the world will attend the conference.

The minister highlighted Azerbaijan’s ICT achievements. Abbasov said development of information technologies was one of the key priorities for his country’s government.

On the sidelines of the forum Abbasov had bilateral meetings with his Chinese, Indian and Pakistani counterparts as well as heads of Chinese HUAWEI, the USA`s WYSE Technology and Great Britain’s British Telecom companies.

Development and extension of bilateral relations in ICT sphere, providence of mutual participation in the international exhibitions held in this sphere, conducting scientific exchange of the specialists, promotion of investment in Azerbaijan’s ICT sector by foreign companies, as well as access of Azerbaijani companies into international markets were discussed at the meetings.
