The Head of State was informed about specifications of the new unit. The facility with the capacity of 6 cubic meters per second will improve quality of water supplied for population in Baku and Sumgait. The Dutch-made state-of-the-art equipment will be used in the new system.
The new facility to be built during 12-15 months will allow saving electricity.
The President got familiar with the water supply plan for Baku and suburban districts.
The President placed a symbolic metal capsule into the foundation and covered it with liquid concrete.
The Head of State met with staff of “Azersu†and builders.
Azerbaijani President speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony said that water supply works are realized with success and undergoing project costs around 100 mln manat. “But Azerbaijan government spends these expenditures and will do it. This is investment for the health of the people. Successful economic policy, carried out by us, gives an opportunity to invest on solution of social issues. Investments are put both into establishment of infrastructure and increasing salaries and pensions. In one word, Azerbaijan realizes social policy in right direction. Of course, infrastructures as a part of this policy, conditions for welfare of people, make happy all of us†said President Ilham Aliyev. Also speaking about launching realization of water-sewerage system projects in all regional centers Ilham Aliyev said all essential works would be finish till the end of 2013. “This is very big project. As, these works are carried out and have to be realized not only in one or two cities but in all regional centers. As, many depend on “Azersu†company workers. Because, there is a goal for realization of this work in a short period of time. Essential works has to be realized till the end of 2013. But when we put goals, we should be realist as well. At the same time we should try to find solutions in a maximum short period of time. This is very big and wide-scale work. But at the same time this is very nice and fine work. Water means life. Clean water means healthy life. We want Azerbaijan citizens to be healthy, young generation to be healthy. Once again, I want to point out that today in strengthening Azerbaijan all the works should meet the highest world standards†added Ilham Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan.
