Known why Azercell and Bakcell failed to get 3g license

To him, in order to extend 3G services in Azerbaijan, in the beginning of July there was held a meeting at the ministry by the participation of representatives of three mobile operators.

Extension of 3G servicesâ€™ coverage and giving new licenses to mobile operators, solution of existing problems between the operators in accordance with the law, fulfillment of preparation works for â€œCellular number transportation which will stimulate healthy competition in mobile communications services market were discussed at the meeting. Development of republicâ€™s telecommunication network and sending of information to the created central server for conducting statistic analysis was also discussed at the meeting.

According to Amirov, result of discussions were submitted to them by protocolling and it was decided that, the problems noted here would create opportunity for extension of 3G services, launch of new services and meeting of demands for these services. Mobile operators were informed that, granting of licences for 3G services to them will be accelerated: â€œThough, Azercell and Bakcell did not take the considered steps, herein. No concrete information on completely fulfilment of protocol decisions was submitted to the Ministry. Some of these requirements are technical. Conductin of these issues would accelerate the granting of 3G licenceâ€.
