Regional meeting of TRACECA countires held in Tbilisi

Baku. Ali Ahmadov â€“ APA-Economics. Regional Meeting on the prioritization of investment projects in preparation for the TRACECA Second Investment Forum was held in Tbilisi, Georgia. Azerbaijan was represented by official of Azerbaijan Railway JSC and senior expert of foreign relations department Elmar Farajov.

Future development of TRACECA, methodology of determination of priority investments directed to development of TRACECA was discussed at the event attended by several finance institutes, experts on transport and plenipotentiaries of European Commission. Within the meeting, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey and Armenia presented 13 investment projects in railway, car and water transport.

Azerbaijani delegation performed with presentation on â€œReconstruction and modernization of infrastructure in Baku-Big Cut part of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway. It was noted that the mentioned project impacted both on quality and quantity of strengthening of transit potential and increasing competitiveness not only Azerbaijan and Caucasus region, but also the whole TRACECA corridor.

TRACECA Secretary General Eduard Biryukov said that Azerbaijan assumed great importance for TRACECA.
