Documents on restructuring of Aztelekom and Baku Telephone Communications IU submitted to government

Baku. Kamala Guliyeva â€“ APA. Most communications enterprises functioning in Azerbaijan have been privatized and at present, only some enterprises offering fixed telephone services are considered state property. â€œPreparation works for becoming Aztelekom and Baku Telephone Communications Industrial Union into OJSC have already been completedâ€, said Minister of Communications and IT Ali Abbasov, APA reports.

To him, the documents on both enterprises have been submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers. After restructuring process, these enterprises will be privatized.

â€œFrom technological viewpoint, telecommunication systems were brought to most modern state. There remain only some regions and works in this direction are being carried out in these regions. These works are expected to finish until the end of this yearâ€, Abbasov said.
