We had about 4 thousand missing people in the First Garabagh War, Deputy Chief of the State Security Service, Lieutenant General Sharafat Hasanov said at the farewell ceremony held for national hero Riyad Ahmadov, APA reports.
He said that the search for the missing persons is ongoing.
"In our laboratories under the Medical Department of the State Security Service, we have carried out the identification of 25 of our martyrs. The process is still ongoing. The remains of the corpses of about 500 military servicemen and civilians have been found in the liberated areas so far."
