# 14 July 2025 17:20 (UTC +04:00)

Within the framework of the measures taken by the State Migration Service to combat unregulated migration, a total of 9,714 decisions were made in the first half of 2025 regarding the rules for the stay, residence, employment of foreigners and stateless persons in the country and other relevant administrative violations, the State Migration Service informed to APA.

It was reported that 4,246 of the foreigners on whom administrative decisions were taken were detained during the measures taken by the State Migration Service to combat unregulated migration. It was determined that they were living in the country without documents granting the right to stay and reside (illegally), were engaged in activities that did not correspond to the declared purpose of their arrival in the country, were involved in illegal labor activities, or were not living at their registered address.

1,007 foreigners who violated migration legislation were administratively expelled from the borders of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and their entry into the country was restricted for a period determined by law; the others were provided with legalization of their stay in the country or voluntary departure from the country.

During this period, 11 cases of organized unregulated migration into the country were revealed. During the investigations, it was determined that attempts were made to bring foreigners to the country for various purposes, organize their sending to third countries using the country's territory, and provide them with work and temporary residence permits in the country illegally after their arrival. The evidence collected in these cases was sent to the relevant law enforcement agencies for legal assessment.

Measures against unregulated migration are being continuously implemented by the State Migration Service.
