Four reported drowned in sea off Azerbaijan's Mardakan, bodies of two recovered - UPDATED

As a result of search operations carried out by diver-rescuers, the bodies of Namig Isabala Azimov, born in 1991, and Elnur Isa Abdulov, born in 2005, were recovered from the water and handed over to the relevant authorities, APA reports, citing the Press Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The search for the other citizens — Parviz Zohrab Majidov, born in 2003, and Elmar Isa Abdulov, born in 2007 — is ongoing.

An initial report has been received by the Ministry of Emergency Situations' (MES) 112 hotline that four people have drowned in an unsupervised section of the sea in Mardakan settlement of Baku’s Khazar district, located 3 kilometers from the nearest rescue station, the MES Press Service told APA.

Divers from the State Service for Control over Small-Sized Vessels and Water Rescue were immediately dispatched to the scene.

At present, diver-rescuers are conducting search operations in the areas where the citizens are believed to have drowned.
