National hero of Azerbaijan Riyad Ahmadov was laid to rest in the 2nd Alley of Honor, APA reports.
Chief of State Security Service Ali Naghiyev, Minister of Defense Zakir Hasanov, Chief of State Border Service Elchin Guliyev, Chief of Foreign Intelligence Office Orkhan Sultanov, members of general public, comrades in arms, and family members attended the funeral ceremony.

A farewell ceremony is being held with Azerbaijan’s national hero Riyad Ahmadov, APA reports.
The event brought together public figures, members of general public, family members and comrades in arms of the martyr.
Note that, on January 26, 1992, Riyad Ahmadov, the deputy head of the Intelligence Department of the Ministry of Defense, was injured in a battle in Dashalti village with the intelligence group he led and went missing. His location has not been determined for many years.
The international conference on “Increasing national and global efforts to clarify the fate of missing persons” held in Baku on September 18 this year, announced that the remains of Riyad Ahmadov and other missing Azerbaijanis were found and identified.
