As a result of the interaction of the forces and means of the Coast Guard of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan (SBS), the smuggling of 29 kilograms 455 grams of drugs from the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Azerbaijan, in the service area of "Goytepa" border detachment of Border Troops of the State Border Service was prevented the State Border Service of Azerbaijan told APA.
As a result of the conducted border search and operational measures, on August 20 at 12:15 p.m, in the service territory of the border post located near Lazran village, Yardimli district, total weight of 5 kilograms 15 grams of drugs (2 kg 430 grams of marijuana, 2 kg 585 grams of opium), and at 1:10 p.m. total weight of 24 kilograms 440 grams of drugs (13 kg 760 grams of marijuana, 7 kg 870 grams of heroin, 1 kg 815 grams of opium, 995 grams of methamphetamine) in the service territory of the border outpost located near the village of Edisha, Jalilabad region was found and taken.
Operational-investigative measures are underway in both cases.
