An explosive trap was discovered in school located in Yemishjan village of Azerbaijan’s Khojavand district, Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) told APA.
According to information, an F-1 hand grenade that was installed on the desk via adhesive tape was discovered as a result of operations carried out by ANAMA employees. The grenade was put in a fighting position and attached to a chair and a door handle by a rope.
Thus, the explosive trap can be activated by pulling the rope when the door is opened or closed. In addition to that, one F-1 hand grenade was also installed under the desk to cause a bigger explosion.
It was noted that, trap mines, improvised explosive devices were found in liberated territories many times during demining operations: “Armenians, leaving the area, also placed such devices in the educational institution in order to harm the civilian population. The security of the area was ensured as the discovered trap device was neutralized by ANAMA employees.”
