The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan and State Migration Service took joint measures against foreigners who do not possess documents giving them the right to stay or live in the Republic of Azerbaijan at different addresses in Baku, the Ministry told APA.
As a result of measures taken, 11 persons who were citizens of various Asian states were detained for violating the mentioned law.
During the investigation, it was revealed that, those foreign citizens were defrauded by their compatriots with the promise of them to be provided with illegal passage to European countries by allegedly using Azerbaijan as a transit.
Investigations into cases of illegal migration are underway.
