Armenia sentences captive Azerbaijani serviceman to life imprisonment

Serviceman of the Azerbaijani Army Huseyn Akhundov, who is held captive in Armenia, was sentenced to life imprisonment, APA reports citing Pastinfo.

The punishment of the Azerbaijani serviceman Huseyn Akhundov, who was accused of murdering a security guard at the Zangazur copper molybdenum combine and was sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment, was aggravated and replaced with life imprisonment.

The Criminal Court of Appeal of Armenia has upheld the complaint of the legal heirs of guard Hayrapet Meliksetyan in this regard.

Note that on April 2023, soldiers of the Azerbaijan Army - Babirov Agshin Gabil (born in 2004) and Akhundov Huseyn Ahliman (born in 2003) went missing due to limited visibility because of the poor weather conditions in the border area of Shahbuz district of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic with Armenia were captured by Armenia.
