Nearly 3,3 mln. violation of traffic rules was recorded in Azerbaijan, in 2019. Of them, 64 % was recorded with special technical means, it was stated operational meeting to discuss traffic safety in 2019 and upcoming tasks held with the attendance of Minister of Internal Affairs Colonel-General Vilayat Eyvazov at State Traffic Police Department of the Republic of Azerbaijan, APA reports.
As a result of the violation of rules, driving licenses of 7316 drivers were restricted. 43.6% of total recorded incidents are related to pedestrians and as a result, 329 people died, 527 injured.
It was noted that despite measures taken, last year, 1870 traffic accidents were recorded in Azerbaijan, as a result, 821 people died, 1702 injured. Compared to 2018, this is the increase in the number of traffic accidents by 53 cases, as a result of them increase in the number of killed by 99 people, a decrease in the number of injured by 9 persons.
