Baku. Ramil Mammadli – APA. Court of Grave Crimes continued the hearing on the case of Orkhan Nadirov, son of people’s artist Ilhama Guliyeva, Mahir Mirsalamov and Yalchin Hasanov, sons of former Baku and Azizbayov prosecutors Adalat Mirsalamov and Rashid Hasanov and 11 others, APA reports. Judge Azer Orujov presided over the hearing.
Defendants Javidan Aliyev, Ruslan Zaliyev, Elshan Budagov, Ramil Hasanov and Hasan Hasanov asked the court to mitigate their sentence taking into consideration their age and family. Mirali Aliyev asked the court to release him and Orkhan Nadirov asked acquittal. Yalchin Hasanov did not agree to the accusation brought against him in the initial investigation.
“I gave sincere testimony both during the initial investigation and in the court. What crime have I committed? I used a lot of drugs and gave to my friends selflessly. I did not sell drugs. It was just for entertainment. I do not need that money,†he said.
Hasanov also objected to Article 206 of the Criminal Code. He regarded the accusations that he had set up an organized group as groundless.
“I believed that the court would be fair. I will appeal to all instances until my rights are restored,†he said.
According to the indictment, Orkhan Nadirov, Mahir Mirsalamov, Yalchin Hasanov, Elshan Rustamov, Ali Ismayilov, Zubiye Gulami, Vugar Aliyev, Javidan Aliyev, Ramin Hasanov, Kamila Eyvazova, Elshan Budagov, Hasan Hasanov, Mirali Aliyev faced charges under articles 234.1 (illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances) and 234.4.1 (Illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances on preliminary arrangement by group of persons or organized group) of the Criminal Code.
