Hearing of Nardaran residents accused of threatening to kill MP Sabir Rustamkhanli scheduled for April 10

Baku. Ramil Mammadli â€“ APA. Sabunchu district court held preliminary hearing on the criminal case launched on Nardaran residents Haji Ali Huseynov and Haji Hikmat Valiyev, who are accused of threatening to kill MP Sabir Rustamkhanli, APA reports. Judge Yusif Karimov presided over the hearing. Sabir Rustamkhanli missed the hearing. Court reporter said Sabir Rustamkhanli had been notified of the hearing, but he missed it. The defendantsâ€™ lawyer Alovsat Agamoglanov filed a petition and asked the court to commute his clientsâ€™ sentence and release them on bail. Public prosecutor wanted the court to reject the petition. Haji Ali Huseynov protested against the initial investigation and did not admit his guilt. Haji Hikmat Valiyev said some media outlets exaggerated the case. Valiyev said he talked to Sabir Rustamkhanli over the phone, the parliamentarian said he had not complained.
The court rejected the petition. Court hearing has been scheduled for April 10.
