Azerbaijani journalist discharged from the Russian Channel One went on hunger strike

Moscow-APA. Russian Channel One staff members Elkhan Mirzayev and Oleg Ptashkin went on hunger strike barricading in one of the cabinets of Ostankino Tower. The journalists threatened to burn themselves in case of force against them. According to City FM Radio, the journalists working in the studio of special projects were discharged on March 2, APA reports. Mirzayev and Ptashkin said the Channel One management violated their rights and should pay compensation to the journalists for their removal from the office. Both journalists demanded to be restored in the job and then to be discharged legally. Mirzayev and Ptashkin have already addressed the Russian president, ombudsman, State Duma and the Public Chamber to assist them in restoration of their rights. Gazeta.ru reported that the journalists were expelled forcibly from the venue of protest action. One of the journalists told Gazeta.ru that they are taken in the unknown direction.
