Former officer of Azerbaijani Army told the court he struggled for Khilafat

Baku. Ramil Mammadli-APA. The hearing on the case of former officer of Azerbaijani Army Kamran Asadov and 19 others was continued in the Military Court of Grave Crimes on Friday.
APA reports that judge Islam Neymanov presided over the process.
Togrul Gasimov gave testimony as a witness. He refused to take witness’s oath and said he could take only Allah-oath. Gasimov said he knew only Hajibala Huseynov of the accused persons and he was a supporter of the sect of Ahl-Sunnah-al-Jama’at. The witness said the supporters of this sect took the right way in Islam. He answered the questions of public prosecutor and the judge. Accused Kamran Asadov protested the questions addressing to the witness. Asadov said every one should be responsible for his action and no one could be questioned for his faith.
Asadov said he was struggling for Khilafat. “My flag is a black flag posied with “Lailahaillalah”.
The prosecutor called on Asadov to respect the national symbol of Azerbaijan.
Zemfira Aliyeva and Nazir Asadov, the colleagues of accused Tarlan Karimov and Shirvani Babayev have also given the testimony in the process.

The hearing will be continued in the afternoon.

Kamran Asadov, Bakhtiyar Orujov, Farid Jabbarov, Elshan Mammadov, Kamran Babayev, Samir Mehbaliyev, Terlan Karimov, Edgar Aliyev, Ramil Karimov, Shirvani Babayev, Samir Aliyev, Yashar Maharramov, Orkhan Alizadeh, Hajibala Huseynov, Azer Ibadov, Shahriyar Maharramov, Ramin Jalilov, Rovshan Abdulaliyev, Ilkin Ismayilov and Vugar Aliyev are accused of setting up a radical religious group, attempting to start military struggle, attacking on LUKoil petrol station in Baku, preparing terror attack on the U.S. and UK embassies in Azerbaijan.
