Elbrus Seyfullayev – APA. 109,469 crimes were recorded in Azerbaijan in 2003-2007, including 15206 crimes in 2003, 16,810 crimes in 2004, 18049 crimes in 2005, 19045 crimes in 2006, 18667 crimes in 2007. 21692 crimes were recorded in Azerbaijan in 2008, says Azerbaijani government’s report to the parliament on the outcomes of 2008, APA reports.
The report says that 92 percent of the crimes were solved. 84078 crimes, including 8417 grave crime committers were determined in 2003-2007.
“23065 wanted people, including 1129 hiding in CIS and other foreign countries were arrested. 8000 illegal firearms, including 800 submachine guns, 1028 pistols, 123 grenade throwers, over 1 million ammunitions were found in 2003-2007. 4734 people were killed in 14179 road accidents, 16163 were injured,” the report says.

394 crimes on human trafficking were fond out in 2008.
“312 people were held accountable for committing illegal actions, 78 people were determined as victims of human trafficking, 43 criminal groups were neutralized,” the report says.

Compared with 2003 the money allocated from the state budget for Interior Ministry increased by five times in 2008 and made up AZN 199.969.962.
