Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. Two employees of Sabunchu Security Department of Azerbaijani Interior Ministry’s Main Security Office have been arrested, Nizami District Prosecutor’s Office told APA. The detained police officers are accused of demanding money from citizens by abusing power. IDP Tehran Mammadov has recently appealed to Nizami District Police.
Mammadov said he had undergone pressure by police officers. The police officers demanded a great amount of money from Mammadov. They threatened to arrest him. The employees of Sabunchu Security Department – Vafa Anvar Gasimov, 41, and Telman Oruj Khalilov, 31, were detained by Nizami district police. Nizami District Court sentenced them to two months in jail. Criminal case has been launched on them on Articles 308 (abuse of power) and 182.2.1 (extortion on preliminary arrangement by group of persons) of the Criminal Code, investigation is underway.
