Ministry of National Security completes preliminary investigation of the terrorist attack on Abu Bakr mosque

Baku. Hafiz Heydarovâ€“APA. A primary investigation of the terrorist attack on Abu Bakr mosque in Baku was completed, public relations officer of the Ministry of National Security Arif Babayev told APA. He said General Investigation Office completed the primary investigation of the terrorists attack on Friday mosque named Abu Bakr in Narimanov District of Baku on August 17, 2008. Babayev said accused persons and their lawyers were learning the investigative materials currently.
Unknown man threw hand grenade to the Abu Bakr mosque visited particularly by the community of Narimanov District believers on August 17, 2008. Two people died and 19 were injured as a result of explosion. It was emerged that the terrorist attack was committed by the â€œForest brothersâ€ armed group and number of people were arrested.

The fact is investigated under article 120.2.4 (deliberate murder committed with special cruelty or in publicly dangers way), 120.2.7 (deliberate murder of two or more persons) and 228 (Illegal purchase, transfer, selling, storage, transportation and carrying of fire-arms, accessories to it, supplies, explosives) of the Criminal Code.
