Supreme Court Chairman: â€œIt is not correct to express populist opinion about the court decisions without learning the issue deeplyâ€

It is not correct to express populist opinion about the court decisions without learning the issue deeplyâ€, said Chairman of the Supreme Court Ramiz Rzayev at a press conference on Friday, APA reports. He expressed his thoughts about the member of Milli Majlis Malahat Hasanovaâ€™s opinion that divorcement cases were not addressed correctly by the courts. The Chairman of the Supreme Court said there were problems in the law related to the sharing of property during the divorcement. â€œThe law was adopted by the Parliament. And one of the lawmakers is Malahat Hasanovaâ€, said Rzayev.
The chairman said the courts couldnâ€™t overstep over the laws. â€œNobody in Azerbaijan can claim that they have marital agreement about the sharing of property. Therefore it creates problems during the divorcement. The court is making decision based on the laws. It is not correct to accuse the courts in this issueâ€.
Rzayev said the Azerbaijani courts were formed completely on the basis of European standards and the laws were also meeting the modern international standards. Rzayev said that the Supreme Court would move to the new building in May.
