Prosecutor demands punishment of defendants accused of hazing in the military

Baku. Ramil Mammadli-APA. Trial on the case of soldiers Famil Geniyev, Javid Yusifov, Adil Abbasov, Rahid Jafarov and Elkhan Almammadov, who committed illegal action against soldiers treated in military hospital of Defense Ministry in Alat, has been held in Baku Military Court today, APA reports.
The trial has been presided over by Salman Huseynov.
The Prosecutor demanded four years and six month-imprisonment for Famil, four years for Javid, Adil, Rahid and Elkhan. Lawyers of defendants asked the Prosecutor to take their age, social condition, first imprisonment into account. The Trial was fixed on March 2.
Defendants faced charges under Articles 332.2 (Infringement of authorized rules on mutual relation between military men at absence of subordination relations)and 332.2.3 (Infringement of authorized rules on mutual relation between military men at absence of subordination relations by group of persons, on preliminary arrangement by group of persons or by organized group) of the Criminal Code. They ordered soldiers, who were treated in the hospital, beat each other on February 21, 2008. They planned illegal action beforehand.
Criminal case has been launched after airing videos on hazing in the military via internet.
