Former department chief of Azerbaijani Presidentâ€™s Office to leave abroad for operation

Akif Muradverdiyev is being treated at home. He suffers from disc herniation. Muradverdiyevâ€™s relatives also said in connection with his sentence they will appeal to relevant bodies to allow him leaving the country.
Azerbaijani Supreme Court passed a decision on applying Article 70 (conditional condemnation) of the Criminal Code. Akif Muradverdiyev got five-year probationary sentence and released from Justice Ministryâ€™s medical unit.
Akif Muradverdiyev faced charges under articles 179.3.2 (embezzlement), 308.2 (abuse of power), 311 (bribery), 313 (service forgery) of the Criminal Code and Court of Grave Crimes sentenced him to six years in jail.
The investigation into the case on charges under Article 28.278 (staging coup) and 28.220 (coup attempt) of the Criminal Code continues.
