Trial of eight Azerbaijanis engaged in illegal fishing in Kazakh territorial waters ends

Azerbaijani embassy in Kazakhstan told APA that the fishermen faced charges under article “Illegal fishing which causes great amount of damage†and sentenced by Tupkaragan district court. On the application of the prosecutor all evidences and 14mln. tanga from the fish sale have been confiscated for the Kazakh government.
Kazakhstan’s Border Service detained Azerbaijani fishermen in the Kazakhstan part of the Caspian. According to Kazakh media, 58 facts on illegal fishing have been recorded in the country since 2004. 71 ships belonging to Azerbaijan and Russia have been detained and 340 poachers have been arrested. 219 of them were administratively disciplined and 121 poachers were held accountable. /APA/
