Arzu Abdullayeva, chairwoman of the Azerbaijan National Committee of Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly (ANC-HCA), told APA that they were arrested while distributing holiday meat to poor families and internally displaced persons in Bibiheybat.
She added that both of them were interrogated for about half an hour and released.
Kamal Valishov, Deputy Chief of Sabayel District Police, told APA that the information is untrue.
“They were allowed holding a rally-meeting at Bibiheybat stadium from 14:00 to 16:00. They refused. In the morning they killed Gurban Holiday sheep to distribute meat to people. Nobody prevented them. Police neither arrested anybody, nor took them to the police station,†he added. /APA/
