The collapse of the bridge suspended traffic. The specialists say that this bridge was constructed in 1969 and it was not repaired thoroughly. This bridge should be reconstructed. This was one of the bridges which established relations among several regions of the country and capital of Azerbaijan. The intensification of movement of heavy-tonnage cars through bridge due to suspension of Hajigabul-Kurdamir road caused the collapse. The corresponding bodies are taking measures for eliminating results of the accident. The bridge will be repaired.
“Azeryolservis†OJS deputy chief Bayram Huseynov refused to reply to APA’s question on the cause of the collapse of the bridge.
“The collapse of the bridge is a usual case. Go and investigate the cause in the place of the accident,†he said. /APA/
