Law enforcers carry out operation in north-western region of Azerbaijan

Armed police and Interior Troops have been involved in the operations. Posts have been put on main roads and region centers, cars are being examined.
Sources in law-enforcement bodies told APAâ€™s local bureau that the operations are connected with robbery in Ganja central post office. Another reliable source said that the operations are the continuation of the operations carried out in Sumgayit. Law-enforcement bodies told APA that the results of the search will be publicized after operation is over.
Head of National Security Ministryâ€™s public affairs center Arif Babayev confirmed to APA that operation was carried out in Sumgayit on October 12. But opposition newspapers misrepresent it. National Security Ministry carried out operations in Sumgayit and neighboring territories to neutralize other members of Telman Abdullayevâ€™s gang, who showed armed resistance to the police in Gusar in September. Several members of the criminal gang were arrested. A lot of firearms, explosives, as well as 4 hand grenades, 4 grenade lighters, 91 detonators, 875g trotyl, over 150 cartridges, 1 equipment and mobile phones for exploding, plan of Sumgayit, military uniform, cold steel arms, computer with multimedia and other things were found out.
Operation for neutralizing other members of the gang continues. /APA/
