National Security Ministry arrests men engaged in illicit trafficking of psychotropic agents

49-year old Kalbajar resident Shakir Najafov, 33-year old Terter resident Rasim Mammadov, as well as Iranian citizens – 42-year old Shahram Moradi and 36-year old Gasim Garashabani, who were engaged in smuggling great deal of such agents from Iran to Azerbaijan, were detained. It was determined that the men reached an agreement on smuggling great deal of psychotropic agents from Iran to Azerbaijan. Driver of the bus en-route Tehran-Baku-Tehran Shahram Moradi regularly brought medications and medical equipment to Azerbaijan without customs declaration. Shahram Moradi was detained while handing over the medical equipment to Shakir Najafov.
A lot of Diazepam, Relanium, Natriosibuterat (GOMK) psychotropic agents, as well as other medications and medical equipment used in surgery were found in Najafov’s house.
A great deal of psychotropic agents, other medications and medical equipment were also found in Mammadov’s house.
Criminal case has been launched on the fact on article 206.3.2 (smuggling psychotropic agents by an organized group), 234.4.1 and 234.4.3 (illegally getting, keeping, carrying, sending and selling great deal of psychotropic agents by an organized group) of the Criminal Code.
Najafov, Mammadov, Garashabani and Moradi were arrested. /APA/
