Indictment announced at the trial of Azerbaijani citizens fought against ally troops in Afghanistan

The Court of Grave Crimes began judicial survey on the criminal case of 13 Azerbaijani citizens participated in the battles against the US ally troops in Afghanistan and Pakistan. The prosecutor announced the indictment at the court session was presided over by Judge Afghan Hajiyev, APA reports. According to the indictment, defendants Shakir Khanbutov, Araz Kangarli, Telman Isayev, Tural Sultanov, Jahangir Bagirov, Eyyub Zeynalov, Seymour Ahadov, Emil Mirzayev, Ceyhun Sadigov, Shahin Mukhtarov, Kabir Velibeyov, Rovshan Rzayev and Vugar Khalilov crossed from Zahidan province of Iran to Pakistan in 2005-2008 and then illegally crossed to Afghanistan where they join the illegal military units to fight against the ally troops.
They were detained by the Azerbaijani border guards when trey attempted to cross Iran-Azerbaijan borders illegally because they hadnâ€™t normal documents to return home.

They are facing with charges under articles 12.1 (citizens of the Azerbaijan Republic and persons constantly living on the Azerbaijan Republic without the citizenship, who have committed action (action or inaction) out of border of the Azerbaijan Republic, shall be instituted to the criminal liability under the present Code, if this action is recognized as a crime in the Azerbaijan Republic and in the state on the territory of which it was committed, and if these persons were not condemned in the foreign state);
279.1 (creation of armed formations or groups, which are not provided by the legislation of the Azerbaijan Republic, and also participation in their creation and activity, supplying them by weapon, ammunition, explosives, military engineering or military equipment); 318.1 (crossing of protected frontier of the Azerbaijan Republic without established documents or outside of check point of frontier);
318.2 (the act provided by article 318.1 of the present Code, committed on preliminary arrangement by group of persons or organized group either with application of violence or with threat of its application) and 228.1 (illegal purchase, transfer, selling, storage, transportation or carrying of fire-arms, accessories to it, supplies (except for the smooth-bore hunting weapon and ammunition to it), explosives) of the Criminal Code.
The judicial survey will be continued in the second half of the day.
