Helicopter crash over Caspian

According to APA, AZAL Mi-8 helicopter crashed over the Caspian Sea after the takeoff from the 4th bloc in the island of Chilov at about 16.30 on July 12. There were three crew members and three workers on board.

Senior officials of AZAL, State Oil Company, Ministry of Emergency Situations and General Prosecutor’s Office and an investigative operational group arrived at site.

State Civil Aviation Administration established the state commission.

Helicopters, ships and diving group of the relevant organizations were involved in the rescue operations. Crew Captain Alik Aliyev, second pilot Vitaliy Nekrasov, mechanic Adil Azimov and worker Aydin Talibov were rescued. Searches are going on for other two workers Rafig Nematov and Victor Mostavenko.

Grave crime investigation department of the General Prosecutor’s Office launched a criminal case under article on violation of air transport security rules.

Reasons of the helicopter crash are investigated now and details will be given later.
