Ministry of National Security prevents drug smuggling from Iran to Azerbaijan

The investigators determined that they hided the narcotics between 1st and 2nd Shahseven Village of Beylagan Region. Then they brought it to Baku and hided in the garden where Rashad Huseynov worked as a guard. The above-mentioned persons were detained as a result of operational searches andabout 30 kg of hashish, as well as Tahir Nasirovâ€™s Turkey-made Mini Kral pistol was found in the garden.

A criminal case was launched under the articles 206.4, 234.4.1 and 234.4.3 (smuggling, is moving large amount through customs border of the Azerbaijan Republic of goods or other subjects, moving through customs border of the Azerbaijan Republic of narcotics, illegal manufacturing, purchase, storage, transportation, transfer or selling of narcotics, psychotropic substances) of the Penal Code of Azerbaijan.

The Ministry of National Security reported about rendering a group of drug traffickers harmless on May 4, 2009. The ministry officials identified new facts on that case and found additional 18 kg hashish from the secret preserve of that group.
