The number of firefighting vehicles of the State Fire Security Unit of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the regions of Bilasuvar, Jalilabad, Masalli, Salyan and Neftchala and the Fire Security Unit of the Goytepe town were involved in the extinguishing of the fire blazed up in the cornfields of the local farms and private land owners in Larzan Village of Jalilabad and extended to the nearby cornfields in the villages of Hajiismayil, Seyidbazar, Sulucheshme, Mollali, Aliabad, Zibanli and Astanli. The fire rapidly extended to nearby areas because of windy weather and damaged private farms as well.
Reasons of the fire were not reported yet.
Local farmers said hundreds of hectares of cornfields were burned down as a result of the fire.
Three fire incidents occurred in the cornfields of Jalilabad Region and four in Masalli over the past month.
