Fire broke out in grain fields of 8 villages of Azerbaijan’s Jalilabad region and spread to houses

The fire broke out in the local farms and grain fields of individual land owners at 14.00. Later the fire spread to the neighboring Hajiismayil, Seyidbazar, Sulucheshme, Mollali, Aliabad, Zibanli and Astanli villages.

Over ten fire engines from Bilasuvar, Jalilabad, Masalli regions Fire Fighting Services and Goytepe Fire Fighting Service arrived at the site. Despite efforts of the firefighters and local residents, the fire has not been extinguished because of windy weather. According to the local farmers, the fire covers over 300 ha area, 100 ha of this area is unreaped grain field.

The fire also spread to the houses of the residents and caused serious damage to the individual farms. A lot of fruit trees, auxiliary constructions and cattle have burnt. Local executive bodies have given no information about the causes of the fire yet.

3 fire accidents occurred in Jalilabad and 4 fire accidents occurred in Masalli within the past month.
