Baku – APA. Chief of Azerbaijan Committee against Torture Elchin Behbudov has visited detention facility #3 in Shuvalan. Behbudov told APA that he visited the jail basing on the complaints of four defendants. Elchin Behbudov said they did not complain of detention conditions, but of torture and pressure of inspectors.
The committee chief said he also met with editor-in-chief of Talishi-sedo newspaper Novruzali Mammadov in jail #15. He suffered from dyspnea, but did not accept the proposal to be transferred to Justice Ministry’s Medical Facility.
“He wanted to be treated in the medical unit of the jail. Under the order of the jail chief, Novruzali Mammadov was transferred to the medical unit,†he said.
