Criminal group pretending to be policemen and threatening citizens to take their money exposed in Azerbaijanâ€™s capital

Sabail district police office carried out operation and detained Elvin Guliyev, 23, Khanlar Mammadov, 23 and Vugar Musayev, 22. They were detained while taking AZN 40 from Agsu resident Mahabbat Nasirov in the National Park. Khanlar Mammadov was wearing a police uniform. Elvin Guliyev, who had been chief in one of private security services, led the group. He gave police uniforms to some citizens, told them to collect necessary documents under the pretext of recruiting them in the patrol service. Elvin Guliyev ordered police uniforms in an atelier in Sumgayit and gave the ready uniforms to 7 persons. He gave police uniforms to Khanlar Mammadov and Vugar Musayev and took AZN 500 from each.
Khanlar Mammadov and Vugar Musayev approached young girls and boys in the parks, introduced themselves as police officers and took them to Elvin Guliyev, who was wearing the uniform of senior lieutenant. The impostors threatened the citizens and took their money.
Criminal case has been launched on the fact, investigation is underway.
